Anusuya was the wife of Atri Rishi, one of the Saptarishis (seven great sages) in ancient Hindu texts. The name Anusuya translates to "one who does not have jealousy" or "one who is free of envy."
She is best known for her chastity and devotion to her husband Atri. It is believed that Anusuya was the epitome of purity, and her devotion and faith in her husband were so strong that they earned her the title of "Sati" — a woman who is virtuous, selfless, and devoted to her partner.
